Q: What is not covered under my SIL funding?

It is outlined in every SIL borrower’s NDIS plan what is and what is not covered under the SIL funding. To give you a better understanding, SIL funds do not cover your day-to-day living expenses, such as:

- Cot of groceries
- Rent and lodging fare
- Utility costs such as gas, electricity, water, telephone or internet bills
- Vehicle (purchasing or renting) expenses
- Household budgeting
- Travel costs for holidays that doesn’t contribute to your autonomy

If you still find it confusing, we’d request you to get in touch with Wings of Care to let us do all the heavy lifting so that you can remain in control of your plan.

Q: Does my daughter have to move in at an SIL facility full-time at first?

Every participant’s needs are different. We’d like you to get over a call with us to determine the best transition status of your new home. Rest assured, our support workers will be at every step of the way, making sure your daughter is comfortable with this transition.

Q: What happens if I fall sick during community participation?

Our assistance with social and community participation in Melbourne takes care of your loved ones at every stage of their NDIS journey. This extends to the time when they fall sick. We have doctors and nurses on-call to address any emergency situation and ensure every participant gets the attention and care they deserve.

Q: What if I’m not happy with your service and need to appeal an NDIS decision?

Go ahead! You are free to communicate your grievances if you think your loved ones are knocked back for NDIS support. Approach the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) anytime and appeal for an internal review of a decision that you do not like.
